My name is Katie; I have been involved in the Equine world for 19 years.
I opened Sugar Cain Stables, LLC, in August of 2009. Running an Equine
facility such as this has been a lifelong ambition of mine. At the age of 5, my
passion for horses began when I got a pony for Christmas. Growing up in Canton, MI,
I competed in 4-H, Hunter/Jumper, Eventing, and Dressage. My show career has taken
me to events throughout the Midwest, from Lamplight in Illinois to the Kentucky Horse Park.
I have also persued my love of the horse in my education. From 2004 to 2008,
I attended Albion College and competed on the Albion College Dressage team.
After achieving my Bachelor’s degree, I enrolled at Michigan State University to
further my education in the Equine world. At MSU I took specialized classes in horse
training, teaching the rider, and general equine care from health and fitness to nutrition.
I have always had a passion to share my knowledge with others.
I have taught various disciplines to beginners as well as advanced students.
With Sugar Cain Stables, LLC, I hope to help others to enjoy their Equine friends
safely and with personal satisfaction and much success.
